This morning I had the privilege of officiating the wedding of Lee Bryan and Stacey Kempker. I’ve known Lee for nearly 30 years, since his early childhood. I’ve watched him go through some really difficult seasons in his lifetime, losing both parents at early ages. Today, to our great joy, he married Stacey, a wonderfully precious young lady. Lee and Stacey are beloved members of our church family and attend the early morning service. We pray that the Lord’s richest blessings and favor will cover them in the days to come.
At Christmas time, Lee (who managed the kitchen at a local grocery store for many years) baked for our staff one of the most incredibly delicious red velvet cakes I’ve ever tasted. We bragged so much about it that today, as a gift for my performing the wedding ceremony, Lee presented me with my own personalized red velvet cake. Hallelujah! Did I mention that pastoring has many fringe benefits? I’m posting this picture for your enjoyment and envy!
